Firstly thanks for stopping by! As the title says this is my first ever blog so, it might not be very good but, I'm going to give it a go! Here goes...
My New Years Resolution for this year (2019) was to lose weight and to #walk1000miles, that might sound a little crazy to some of you however, it actually works out at 2.74 miles a day. With this in mind I started off the year brilliantly, going out most evenings for a walk to add to my 1000 target. Several weeks in and I was gradually going out for less and less walks to the point of not going for a walk for a couple of weeks! With the great British weather not at it's best I was turning into a couch potato, thankfully the weather took a turn for the better and I once again found my walking mojo. With a break to Wales on the cards for Easter I was determind to up my walking game so, I went for regular evening walks along with some family walks at the weekends. We visited Formby National Trust site (in search of red squirrels,) the Wyre Forest and Parkhouse and Chrome Hills in the Peak District (these routes will be on my website shortly.) Wales provided us with a much needed family break, with walks along the beaches and Hafren Forest. However, I'm currently turning back into couch potato mode but, it's not necessarily because I've lost my walking mojo, sometimes day to day life just gets in the way. Working full time in a primary education setting, having two teenage daughters along with all the housework and garden jobs, it leaves little time to do other things like walking and updating my social media sites and my website! I also feel that it's important to have a good work life balance therefore, I'm going to attempt to be a little more organised with things in the home in the hope it leaves me with more time on my hands to get outside for some adventures. On a positive note I have recently started biking to work which has been enjoyable and, over the next couple of months I'm going to be completing my Level 3 Forest School Leader training with Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. Keep an eye out on my social media pages for updates on how that's going. As of today my current mileage is 130 miles! Which means I now need to average just under 4 miles a day if I'm to complete my #walk1000miles challenge! No pressure then?! So, that's it, 2019 summed up so far and my first ever blog! I hope it wasn't too boring! Thanks for reading. 😄
